The Arkivio Story

Founded in 2014 by Lance Surgeson and Paul Rabinowitz, Arkivio has evolved from a garage startup into one of South Africa’s leading luxury brands for bespoke mirrors and lighting. Based in our Durban-based design studio and workshop, we fuse world-class manufacturing with a modern African aesthetic, drawing deep inspiration from the textures and heritage of the East Coast.

At our core is a commitment to community. By self-producing our entire range, we prioritize job creation and the continuous upskilling of our local artisans. This dedication to excellence allows us to deliver authentic, high-end craftsmanship tailored for prestigious global projects, including Six Senses, Singita, and &Beyond.

Our collections—from the sculptural, hand-wrapped silhouettes of Isibo and Lukiwe to the technical, made-to-measure Lumena range—are fully customizable and supported by high-definition digital assets for trade professionals.
